 About the Scheme

The Government of India launched the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana to promote rooftop solar installations in households and reduce electricity bills through clean energy generation.

The PM Surya Ghar:  Muft Bijli Yojana was officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 February 2024.

The Union Cabinet later approved the scheme on 29 February 2024 with a total outlay of ₹75,021 crore to promote rooftop solar installations for 1 crore households.

• 1 kW system → ₹30,000 subsidy

• 2 kW system → ₹60,000 subsidy

• 3 kW system → ₹78,000 subsidy

1.      Register on the official portal

2.    Select DISCOM and consumer number
