🏛 Scheme Overview
Lakhpati Didi Initiative is a flagship rural women empowerment programme of the Government of India.
Implemented under:
DAY–NRLM (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission)

Objective:
To help rural women SHG members achieve sustainable annual household income of ₹1 lakh or more through livelihood and enterprise activities.
🎯 Main Objective of the Scheme
The initiative aims to:
✔ Create financially independent rural women entrepreneurs
✔ Increase rural household income
✔ Promote women-led enterprises
✔ Strengthen SHG-bank linkage
✔ Improve financial inclusion
✔ Promote skill development and entrepreneurship
✔ Reduce dependence on informal credit sources
👩 Who is a “Lakhpati Didi”?
A rural woman SHG member who:
✔ Earns annual household income above ₹1 lakh
✔ Earns average monthly income above ₹10,000
✔ Maintains sustainable income for at least 4 agricultural seasons/business cycles
📌 Important:
Women are not required to already earn ₹1 lakh to join the initiative.
The scheme supports low-income SHG women to become “Lakhpati Didis.”

Eligible women include:
✔ Rural women SHG members under DAY-NRLM
✔ Women involved in agriculture & allied activities
✔ Women engaged in rural enterprises
✔ Existing and aspiring entrepreneurs

💰 Major Financial Benefits & Assistance
1️.Revolving Fund (RF)
✔ Financial support to SHGs for internal lending
✔ Assistance generally ranges from:
₹20,000 to ₹30,000 per SHG
✔ Helps meet emergency and livelihood credit needs
2.️Community Investment Fund (CIF)
✔ Financial assistance routed through SHG federations
✔ Up to ₹2.5 lakh per SHG
✔ Used for:
Dairy
Poultry
Agriculture
Petty business
Rural enterprises
Livelihood activities
3. Collateral-Free Bank Loans
Women SHGs are eligible for:
✔ Bank loans up to ₹20 lakh without collateral/security
✔ Multiple-dose credit linkage based on repayment performance
✔ Financing through SHG-Bank Linkage Programme
4️. Interest Subvention (Interest Subsidy)
For SHG Loans
✔ Subsidized interest rates on eligible SHG loans
✔ Effective interest rate generally reduced to around 7%
Additional Prompt Repayment Incentive
✔ Some states provide further subsidy resulting in:
3% interest loans
1% interest loans
Even 0% interest loans in certain states
5️. Credit Guarantee Support
Individual Enterprises
✔ Credit guarantee support for loans up to ₹5 lakh
SHG Collectives / FPOs
✔ Collateral support up to ₹2 crore
✔ Reimbursement of guarantee fees for eligible units
6️ Incentive Support to Women Collectives
✔ Incentives up to ₹25 lakh for eligible women collectives/FPOs
✔ Encourages group entrepreneurship and enterprise scaling
7. Overdraft Facility
Women SHG members having PM Jan Dhan accounts may receive:
✔ Overdraft facility up to ₹10,000
✔ Subject to satisfactory account operations and eligibility norms
