India's IIP grew 8.0% in August 2026, up from 6.7% in July.

An RBI advisory committee has proposed increasing the aggregate Ways and Means Advances (WMA) limit for State Governments from โ‚น61,008 crore to โ‚น67,839 crore, an increase of 11.2%.

The committee also recommended annual review of the limits and greater discipline in the timing of State market borrowings.
